Jean Eric Salata Match Campaign FAQ

Temple Anshe Hesed - January 2025
The Match Campaign Edition
Frequently Asked Questions

What is the match campaign all about and how did it get started?

Jean Eric Salata, a former Temple congregant, heard about our campaign to ensure the future of Temple Anshe Hesed and established the Salata Family Fund. Jean has offered an additional $250,000 1:1 match donation, starting now through December 31, 2025, for donations made to qualifying funds. Your donation will be deposited in the fund of your choosing. Jean’s matching donation will go to the Salata Family Fund.

Wait, what is a match donation?

For every dollar donated to a qualifying fund, Jean Eric Salata will donate a dollar to the Salata Family Fund, for the first $250,000 we raise.

Okay, that makes sense. So what is the Salata Family Fund?

Jean Eric Salata established the fund to support congregational engagement, outreach, adult education, and the technology to support these endeavors.

Now wait one second, where is my money going?

You are welcome to donate to any of our programs or funds. That is where we will put your donation to work, and we greatly appreciate it!

If you donate to one of the qualifying funds, your money will go to your designated fund, and Jean Eric Salata will donate an equal amount (for the first $250,000 we raise) to the Salata Family Fund, to support the goals as outlined above.

Alright, what’s the big picture here? Why are we doing this?

To ensure the Temple will continue to thrive for another 150 years, we need to raise $8 million dollars. This goal will safeguard our ability to continue providing the programming and outreach levels we currently do, which is above and beyond what most Temples our size are able to support. By reaching our goal to raise $8 million dollars, we will sustain Temple Anshe Hesed and Reform Judaism in Northwest Pennsylvania for future generations.
