Findhelp.org reviewed some of the food pantries in Erie County. Here is where you will find the location of the pantries, services, and requirements.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish

  • Location: 1531 E. Grandview Boulevard.
  • Phone: 814-825-7313
  • Hours of operation: Second and fourth Monday and Tuesday of each month. Monday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Requirements: Must be an Erie resident with a state photo ID and fill out an intake form.
  • Personal care items and occasional clothing can be picked up at the pantry.

First Alliance Church

  • Location: 2939 Zimmerly Road
  • Phone: 814-833-9826
  • Hours of operation: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; Thursday, 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
  • Requirements: proof of residency required.

Saint Vincent Healthy Food Center

  • Location: 311 W. 24th St.
  • Phone: 814-452-7043
  • Hours of operation: Monday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Requirements: must have a physician referral.

Emergency Food Pantry Program

  • Location: 1701 Parade St.
  • Phone: 814-452-6113
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Requirements: the food pantry can be accessed once per month per household. No appointment or referral needed.

Saint Peter Roman Catholic Cathedral

  • Location: 230 W. 10th St. Food pantry located at the downstairs entrance to the Cathedral Prep cafeteria on West 10th Street.
  • Phone: 814-453-6677
  • Hours: Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Distribution is usually the third Tuesday of each month.
  • Requirements: must live within the boundaries established by Second Harvest Food Bank which are: the City of Erie, West Ninth to West 15th streets and State Street to Cascade Street.
  • Emergency food can be obtained outside of the normal distribution timeframe by emailing: foodpantry@stpetercathedral.com or calling 814-453-6677, ext. 9. A return phone number and name are required.

Kearsarge Area Food Pantry

  • Location: 2402 W. Grandview Boulevard
  • Phone: 814-836-1676
  • Hours: Open second and fourth Thursday of each month from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
  • Requirements: Must live in the boundary of West 38th Street to Millcreek line at Pittsburgh Avenue to Peach Street.

Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church Food Pantry

  • Location: 2816 Elmwood Avenue
  • Phone: 814-864-4809
  • Hours of Operation: open on the third Thursday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Requirements: this program serves residents between W. 20th Street to West 38th Street and Cascade to Greengarden.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church Food Pantry

  • Hours of Operation: Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Saint Joseph Bread of Life Community

Senior Food Box Program by Second Harvest Food Bank

  • Location: 1507 Grimm Drive

  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Requirements: Participation in the Senior Food Box Program requires advance registration. To see if you qualify or to register for the program, please contact by phone. This program helps people who are older than 59 years old. Participants must meet the annual income guidelines.
  • Income guidelines: one person household: $18,954, two-person household: $25,636, three-person household: $32,318, four-person household: $39,000, five-person household: $45,682, six-person household: $52,364, seven-person household: $59,064, eight-person household: $65,728.

Produce Express by Second Harvest Food Bank

  • Hours of Operation: Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Requirements: must have photo identification and proof of residency. Must meet the annual maximum eligible income guidelines: one person household: $2,095, two-person household: $2,823, three-person household: $3,551, four-person household: $4,278, five person household: $5,006.

Emmaus Ministries Food Pantry

  • Location: 218 E. 11th St.
  • Phone: 814-459-8349
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Requirements: identification is required.
  • Families may come once a week to receive a bag of groceries.

Salvation Army Food Pantry

  • Location: 1022 Liberty St.
  • Phone: 814-454-6497
  • Hours of Operation: Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Requirements: this program covers the residents of Erie. Visitors must present identification.

Bethany Outreach Center Food Pantry

  • Location: 254 E. 10th St.
  • Phone: 814-456-6254
  • Hours of Operation: Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Requirements: covers residents for Erie and visitors must enter the building at the German Street entrance.

Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul

  • Location: 134 W. Seventh St.
  • Phone: 814-452-3779
  • Hours of Operation: Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Requirements: food pantry serves Erie residents.
  • This program also offers personal care products when they are available. Clients are served hot coffee and cookies while waiting to select their groceries.

Martin Luther King Center Food Pantry

  • Location: 312 Chestnut St.
  • Phone: 814-459-2761
  • Hours of Operation: Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Requirements: this program serves Erie residents.
  • This center provides food, clothing based on availability, service linkages to outside agencies, emergency food service, referral to other in-house programs and participates in seasonal voucher programs.

Summit Community Food Pantry

  • Location: 1230 Townhall Road West
  • Phone: 814-864-3271
  • Hours of Operation: Runs on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Requirements: photo ID required with proof of residency in Summit Township.
  • Dates will vary near Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Food Pantry by Wesleyville Interfaith

  • Location: 2041 Station Road
  • Phone: 814-899-3302
  • Hours of Operation: First and third Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Requirements: Food pantry serves everyone from low-income families, single parents, senior citizens, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, working poor, and anyone else in need of our assistance.

Food Pantry by Glenwood United Methodist Church

  • Location: 2931 Myrtle St.
  • Phone: 814-456-6268
  • Hours of Operation: Monday: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pantry opens on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Requirements: visitors must present photo ID and proof of address.

Saint Boniface Church Food Pantry

  • Location: 9367 Wattsburg Road
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The food pantry is open every other Saturday morning at 9 a.m.

  • Requirements: this program covers residents in Erie.

Corry Area Food Pantry

  • Location: 1318 W. Main St., Corry.
  • Phone: 814-664-7359
  • Hours of Operation: Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Open on the third Friday of each month.
  • Requirements: Please have space available in your vehicles for food boxes. Vehicles are not to line up before 8:30 am. Participants who line up before 8:30 a.m. will be asked to leave.

Blessed Sacrament Church Food Pantry

  • Location: 1626 W. 26th St.
  • Phone: 814-454-0171
  • Hours of Operation: The food pantry takes place every other Tuesday from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. 
  • Requirements: must live within the service area near Blessed Sacrament Church.

Home House of Erie Food Pantry

  • Location: 1861 Buffalo Road
  • Phone: 814-460-0437
  • Hours of Operation: Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Requirements: must meet income guidelines of $2,095 for single person and $4,278 for family of four per month.

Sister Mary Pascal, SSJ Gray Food Pantry at Saint Patrick Church

  • Location: 130 E. Fourth St.
  • Phone: 814-454-8085
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Requirements: this program serves residents in Erie County.
  • Whenever possible, the pantry also distributes clothing, furniture, baby products and more.

North East Food Pantry

  • Location: 30 Bothel St.
  • Phone: 814-725-9777
  • Hours of Operation: Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Requirements: visitors must reside in North East Borough, North East Township or Greenfield Township.
  • Clients with a last name starting with "A" through "L" may visit the pantry on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Clients with a last name starting with "M" through "Z" may visit on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

Federated Church Food Pantry

  • Location: 11995 Main St.
  • Phone: 814-922-3655.
  • Hours of Operation: Monday, noon to 2 p.m.
  • Requirements: children, adults or senior citizens with limited or no income, who simply have fallen into hard times or are recently unemployed and need assistance to make ends meet.

Our Lady of Mercy Church
